Thanks for asking! We get excited about a number of different kinds of projects. We offer type design that can be used in print, web projects, marketing, or signage. We make indoor and outdoor signs for businesses, working with a client supplied design, or creating a custom look. We make hanging signs, wall mounted signs, sandwich boards, hand carved signs, and custom fabricated metal and wood signs. We paint on glass, directly on walls, and some surprising other surfaces...just ask if you're not sure what can be done! We also love to paint murals and large scale hand painted advertisements, using traditional methods, or even spray paint when desired.
What type of jobs does Better Letter do?
How long does it take to get a sign made?
Sign turnaround times vary greatly based on the type of sign, the scope of the job, and our availability. We advise clients to request a sign before the last minute, as we cannot promise immediate turnaround. While we strive for expediency, the service that we offer is custom and handmade, and therefore requires due diligence.
How much will the job cost?
We consider a number of factors when pricing a job, including materials, scale, level of intricacy, and equipment needed. When reaching out about a potential job, please include as many details as possible about the nature of the job, so that we can respond quickly with an accurate estimate. Please note that we have a $500 minimum.
Why Should I choose hand-painted over vinyl?
While there is a time and place for everything, we find that "hand-painted" is a beautiful option that ages elegantly, conveys a tradition of craftsmanship, and has a soulful look that stands out of a crowd, reflecting a level of care. As vinyl ages, it cracks and peels to the point of illegibility; painted signs fades slowly and gracefully. That being said, for lengthy verbiage in very small lettering (less than 1/2 inch character height), we do occasionally recommend vinyl.
